About the conference
About the International Migration Conference
The International Conference on Migration, Mobility, and Integration (MMI) takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 28 to 30 May 2027. It is an international migration conference in the full sense of the phrase, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from countries of origin, transit, and destination to work on one of the defining questions of our time: how people move across borders, how societies receive them, and what it takes for newcomers and communities to build a shared life.
Migration is argued about constantly and understood far less than the volume of argument suggests. The evidence on what shapes movement, what integration policies achieve, and how mobility affects sending and receiving societies alike sits across half a dozen disciplines — and, just as importantly, in the experience of the people who deliver programmes and services on the ground.
This migration and integration conference brings that evidence and that experience into one room. It welcomes empirical studies, comparative and policy analyses, legal scholarship, qualitative work, and practice-based contributions from every region and every perspective. As a migration studies conference, it takes no policy position; it asks only that the work be rigorous.
Every abstract is reviewed double-blind by the Scientific Committee. Accepted abstracts are published in the Conference Abstract Book with an ISBN, and full papers may be published in the Conference Proceedings with an ISSN and a Crossref DOI, indexed in Google Scholar.
Participation is possible in person in Copenhagen, as a poster presenter, or virtually from anywhere.
MMI takes no position on migration policy. It asks only that the work be rigorous.

Host city
Copenhagen — host city of MMI 2027
Copenhagen is a natural home for a migration conference in 2027. Denmark is a country where these questions are debated openly and studied closely, and the city itself is compact, well-connected, and easy to reach — the airport is fifteen minutes from the centre by metro. The conference takes place at a single venue in central Copenhagen, with sessions, poster displays, and networking all in the same building.
